Josh (@hixson_josh) has a degree in forensic and analytical chemistry, and spent his post-grad years in synthetic chemistry and wine. He now works at the Australian Wine Research Institute looking into tannin chemistry and the re-use of by-products across agricultural sectors. Trapped in a toddler-like phase of asking “why?” constantly, Josh maintains an aversion to magic tricks because he can’t figure out how they work. He loves a good ellipsis and hopes for an accepted text style to denote sarcasm. In his spare time…ha! He is also a father of three tiny humans that cannot perform many unassisted tasks.
Science and technology is as much a part of our cultural fabric as art, music, theatre and literature. They play a significant role in our daily lives, yet, in a world dependent on science, we often take them for granted. Australia’s Science Channel believes every citizen has a right, and a responsibility, to be informed, and our mission is to create programs to bring that about.
